King's Counsel
Walter is a highly accomplished attorney-at-law with over 35 years of legal experience spanning commercial, civil, and white-collar criminal litigation, as well as specialized expertise in gaming, regulatory, labour, mining, and libel law. Admitted to the Bars of Jamaica (1986) and Barbados (1995), Walter was appointed King’s Counsel in 2012, recognizing his distinguished contribution to the legal profession.
Education and Early Career
Walter holds an LLB (Upper Second-Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies (1983) and a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School (1985). He began his legal career as Crown Counsel in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions before gaining extensive private sector experience as an associate and partner at notable law firms, including Rattray Patterson Rattray and Grant Stewart Phillips & Co. In 2019, he transitioned to sole practice, offering premier legal counsel across diverse practice areas.
